Sometimes dubbed as the "Paris of the South" or "Paris of South America" – The capital and the largest city of Argentina, Buenos Aires is located on an estuary of the Río de la Plata in east-central Argentina, about 150 miles (240 km) from the Atlantic Ocean. It is the Latin America's financial, industrial, commercial, and social hub, and a important port of Argentina.

Architecturally Buenos Aires is Paris reminiscent. Buenos Aires is a popular tourist destination, known for its parks, gardens, museums, art galleries, churches, cathedrals, lively cafés, marvelous malls, theaters and opera houses. It is also the site of the Teatro Colón, one of the greatest opera houses of the world.

Buenos Aires is famous for its vibrant night life. The city has a great number posh pubs, clubs, bars, restaurants, and theaters. Avenida 9 de Julio is the world's widest boulevard; it’s the nucleus of the theaters and nightclub district, and thus often nicknamed as the Broadway of Argentina.

Buenos Aires is also home to several symphony orchestras and choral societies. The city is famous for ‘tango dance’ and tango music, which is said to be born in suburbs of the city. The city holds an annual "Tango Day" each December 11.

In San Telmo (one of the oldest barrios (neighborhoods) of Buenos Aires), Sundays are devoted to tango shows on the streets and antiques trade in the bazaars around Dorrego Square. Tango shows can be found in establishments such as Rivero's El Viejo Almacén.

After dark, the traditional tango bars and restaurants go extremely lively. The city offers a feast of beauty and sensuality in nightlife. The pubs, bars, and the restaurants of the city offer the world’s best wines, meat, ice creams, and of course Girls.

The city hardly sleeps at night. The city of lights, Buenos Aires offers one of the most dazzling dance bars and discos in Argentina. The discos and dance clubs mostly feature Salsa, Rock, and Tango in nightlife, and superb electronic music is just overwhelming.

The pubs and bars of the city open early in evening and remain open till wee hours. There are several bars that open as early as 6pm and goes on and on until 6, 7am, or later. The serious clubbing starts after midnight.

The areas and streets around the Recoleta cemetery are the traditional entertainment spots. The area boasts of nice restaurants, bars, and clubs, and has become extremely popular with tourists.

Arcos del ferrocarril (from Libertador y Infanta Isabel to Av. Sarmiento y Casares) is one of the hot places of Buenos Aires. The area features a dozen bars and clubs.

Costanera Norte (Av. Costanera Rafael Obligado, from J. Salguero to Pampa) is another area with lots of restaurants, bars, and dance clubs. Some of the restaurants turn into discos at 2 o'clock.

The recently developed entertainment area, Palermo Vijeo (around Plaza J. Cortazar) also offers lots of restaurants, bars/cafes, and a few dance clubs. There are also some fine clubs and bars scattered over the area called "Palermo Hollywood", west of Plaza Cortazar, reaching into Colegiales and Belgrano.

Buenos Aires is also known for sensual pleasures. There are several areas and spots offering nice girls to play with. Buenos Aires nightlife is sweet, but sometimes it turns violent. The visitors are advised to beware gangsters, bitches, mobs, and crooks.
